Questions about flying at short notice

The things people ask when the clock is running. If yours is missing, put it in the notes of your request and your advisor will answer it.

Timing

What is the latest I can ask for a flight tonight?

There is no fixed cut-off. Whether tonight works depends on an aircraft and a rested crew being close to your airport, and on both airports being open. The earlier you ask, the more options exist.

Can you guarantee a departure time?

Only once you have signed the charter agreement and the operator has confirmed the aircraft and crew. Before that, every time we quote is a proposal.

Why might a morning flight be better than a late one?

A crew that rests overnight, airports that are fully open and catering that has time to be prepared often make a first-light departure smoother, and sometimes better value, than a strained midnight slot.

Price and payment

Does booking late cost more?

Not by itself. The price follows the aircraft and how far it must travel to reach you. When the nearest suitable jet is far away, its positioning flight adds cost.

What does the quoted price include?

Everything needed to fly the trip: the aircraft, crew, federal excise tax and segment fees on domestic flights, airport and handling fees and any repositioning. Optional extras are itemised.

How do I pay for a same-night flight?

Under the payment terms in your charter agreement. Bank transfers can be slow outside business hours, so ask which methods clear in time.

The trip

Can I leave the country tonight?

Often. Send passport details for everyone with the request so the operator can file manifests and plan customs. Some destinations need permits that take longer, and we will tell you if so.

Is my pet allowed on board?

On many aircraft, provided the operator agrees in advance. Tell us the size and breed; international trips also need the right health paperwork for the animal.

What if my plans change after I book?

Contact your advisor straight away. The cancellation and change terms in your charter agreement decide what happens next.

Do I need an account?

No account, membership or deposit is needed to request a quote.

Safety

Who is responsible for the flight?

Last Minute Private Jet is an air charter broker and is not a direct air carrier. We do not own or operate aircraft; every flight is operated by an FAA Part 135 (or foreign equivalent) direct air carrier in operational control of the aircraft. The operator's name appears in your quote.

Is a rushed flight a less safe flight?

It should not be. Crew rest, maintenance and flight planning rules apply whatever the notice. Many operators we work with also hold ARGUS, Wyvern or IS-BAO audits.
